Well it happened our male T. blondi has gone the way of dinner. It had been the third pairing and we can only hope he did his "job". Here's a picture of the carnage:

Hmm

Is it true that T. Blondies don't have alot of offsprings. About how many in a sac? I'm just curious. any ways have a nice day. and hope everything went well.

Yeah if the breeding went well then those "kids" will have a good start. Our breeding experiences have been about the same, lose a male to cannibalism but the females have been producing so we'll see.

This is our first T. blondi breeding and we've heard 500-800 s'lings in a sac but we'll have to wait and see. Can't count the s'lings before they hatch or even develope. The T. blondi offspring are larger in size than other s'lings though.

The female of the species is more deadlier than the male. He (hopefully) served his purpose. We raised him from a s'ling so it was a bit much for us to see at first, but such is life.

500-800 Blondi slings per sac.. ? Wow, that'd be a huge sac! From what I've heard they kinda max out at 100... Or am I terribly wrong here?

We did say it was some thing we had ---heard. Maybe somone who has had a viable eggsac can't shed some light. We've always heard high numbers.

arachnopunks, did you see the male insert any of his palps during the courtship. Im also trying to breed this speices. One of my females was bred about 2-3 mounths ago her abdomin swelled up, then the other night i came home and it looks like it shrank as if she laid the eggs. But there is realy no eveidance of a sac being produced:? I have also heard of the sac being in the 80-100 range. Good luck with your female.

Unfortunately we didn't see him "mount" but on another occasion he was in position but even then it was hard to see, from the position they paired, if it went well.

Have you ever tried putting a little dental type mirror under them?:?

Seems like a good idea... but then I have only mated my g. roseas, my b. vagans and my p. scrofas. They were ALL so calm that I could have picked them up with they were doing it!! Not sure I would want to stick one under a mating blondi!
