Lost my dehaani to the wall

Let’s keep this short and sweet cuz I’m still all over the place. I was treating my dehaani for mites, and long story short, the enclosure got reinfested (thought I removed them all but didn’t) so I was trying to transfer her again. She molted recently and has been more skittish since. That said, I picked her up and moved her last time so I thought “this couldn’t be that bad”.

Gave her a cricket, which chilled her out, but not enough. Basically she started running around my counter and, after some back and forth, fell to my bathroom floor. She then found a hole between my wall and bathroom cabinet that I never really knew existed until now. Cherry on top is apartment complex is sending exterminators to my room tomorrow that I didn’t order who also checked out my apartment last week and said we didn’t need it. Idk what to do, other than maybe seal the hole up with a paper towel and pray she survives, but what then? She’s still a dehaani lost in my bathroom, and hopefully only in my bathroom. I might just have to let her go which I don’t want to do but idk what other option there is.

Very unfortunate to hear, I’m sorry you’re dealing with this.

Try putting a piece of fruit on a plate near the hole. Good choices would be banana or cantaloupe. You may be able to lure it out of the hole this way.

Aight I’ll get one later today. Since she just ate a cricket could I wait a few hours and jiggle another one in there with tongs and slowly pull her out that way?

From looking how my bathroom’s structured that hole might not go anywhere, so I might have a *slim* chance of blocking it off deeper in before they spray and waiting for her to get hungry after. But my options are limited as is.

Edit: I take it back. The hole very clearly opens up right where it begins. So the fruit’s my only option.

I lost a P. Regalis similar situation it got in a crack in the wall. I ended up chipping part of the wall away to get it out, this was after around 2 or 3 months though as I seen it's legs poking out. It had moulted in that time so had put on some size.

I’ve got another 9 months here so hopefully I somehow see her poke out sometime. Anyone have any thoughts on putting a bunch of silica gel packets into the hole so she’s more inclined to search for the banana and cantaloupe? I’m hoping it could also absorb anything the exterminators spray too, but that much could be wishful.

No dice. Gf and I checked the hole with a bore scope and the floorboards don’t extend into it, meaning she is under the floorboards and maybe in our walls. Also, the hole is deeper than our floor, though she might be able to climb out given how rough the paint looks in there.

Very sorry escapes of inverts suck and often end in losses.

It sucks but it was a good learning lesson. After reflecting on what happened there’s (obviously) a number of things I could have done better, so going forward I know how I’ll handle it.
