Hi,
I was a member here (under the same username) like 15+ years ago I think? Maybe longer? Anyhow, I chose the username because I was keeping tarantulas as pets since I was 11 years old (1980). And my love for bugs never dies...
So, every year at this time, for the past few years, I try to track down either some:

Assassin Bugs (colorful spp., like Bee Assassins, etc.) My local ones, here in NY are Zelus Spp.

Or

Six-Spotted Tiger Beetles (Cicindelinae, Megacephalini, etc.)

To keep as pets. And I've been unsuccessful each time. So, I'm hoping to place a Wanted Ad in the classifieds here soon; and keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks!
Al

Cicindela are easy to find in the wild around sand and beaches

P. Biggutatus has nice white spots. There is never really a ton of color like tiger beetles. The milkweed assassins look sick but are hard to find
