I love this T....he has made a web in the corner where a limb rests in the corner of the cage about 3" up...it is about 10" across...it's a big web for him.

Yeah, htey grow fast. After they hit 1" mark though. Before that the % growth might be fast, but the actual fysical growth is still tiny. Hopefully I'm clear about what I mean.

My quickest L.P grower went from 2mm to almost 12 cm in one year. I don't know what that is in inches. But 2mm sling is pretty much an egg with a legg.

I had one last year I bought at 2.5", not knowing how fast they grow, by the fall he was 8" or more (very long legs) reaching side to side on his 5 gal tank, hooked out, so I sent him off to find his destiny. Now I have 2 little ones, about 1" and 1.5", so its interesting to hear from you how fast they can grow in the baby stages.

wow, thats quite the rainforest he has there!!

parahybana can be very vigorous growers, they moult frequently and they seem to have large growth increments although this is in part because the growth of a larger species in noticable when they are say 4-5-6-7 inches and making a jump of 1-2 inches per moult whereas a smaller species might make the same relative increment but if its a normal sized species it just wont seem as impressive. eg second moult king baboon after four moults gives a still small spider unlike the large blondi second moult that gives a large spider after 4 moults but the relative growth in both is similar.

i had a parahybana male mature to a 9.5 inch monster after 18 months (edit, actually he was bought as an sling so he could have been a few moths already, so 2 years max at a guess)

That is pretty impressive! My parahybana is only 0.5" and I haven't seen it since the day after I got it cos it's buried itself :wall: I put crickets in its tub and they disappear tho, so I guess it's doing ok.

Awesome enclosure by the way!

Huh..nice . I have problems with my 3 parahybana slings .I thought they will grew up
faster and gained their size pretty much . I recived them in June 2007 this big:

and now after 4 molts ..they are this big . ( fresh picture )

So it's almost 9 months since June..and they are still 2,5-3cm
I'm starting to think that they are not parahybanas . But i trust him (dealer)
I don't know what is wrong..temps are 26°C and I feed them a lot .

That's very slow growth for a Parahybana. I keep mine at between 80-83 degrees F and 80% humitidy. I think the key to growth is the nutrients you feed their prey. My crickets eat better than I do!

Forgot to mention, normal growth for a year is 5-6"....I don't think those are L.Parahybanas.

Gorgeous as always and natural tank for maximum happiness too. I was just thinking about what I feed my crickets last night and how that would affect my T's. I feed mine a blend of cricket food and oats. Any new ideas would be gratefully received!

Robc I have 2 females now & really like how they fast they'll grab the crickets. I have a 5" f, she's my newest & I tossed her 3 crickets the other day to see what she would do. I usually only give 1 or maybe 2, she scooped'em all up! The other girl is 2 3/4" & she's looking like she has a molt coming herself.
My crickets get only Fluker's cricket feed & cricket quencher & seem to do fine. My scorps & T's are thriving like mad! :D

Yea these guys do grow quick my female eats so much after she had her most recent molt she STILL has a big abdomen and she still eats its a good thing Ts can't get heart problems and clog arteries from eating so much food because L. Para's would be on that list. The top picture is her before her molt and the bottom is her after her molt:
