Good to know. Anyone have any additional info and perspective on those folks? (Data, not lobbyist noise)

Here ya go, Snark, from a site that has been keeping tabs on HSUS's deception the longest:
http://humanewatch.org/index.php/documents/
Tax filings, correspondence, it's all in there. There's a lot to go through, though, so try to find a time when you can sit down and take it all in.

Sheesh. Those folks are up there with that world reknown children protection/assistance charity that eats way over half their received donations in 'administrative costs'.
PBL, that web site was especially poignant in it mentioning the complaint to the president of the Pasadena Humane Society which I have volunteered for and donated to in the past. That's where I got my Akita!

Hahaha!!

I hope those bastards rot in hell. They deserve every bit of what's coming their way.

This is just too awesome. I'm spreading that article all over Facebook.

More and more local/area humane societies-you know, the ones that actually DO operate shelters-are having to post disclaimers on their websites that they are not in any way, shape or form affiliated with HSUS, ASPCA or any other national organization, and that they receive ZERO funding from them. A national survey conducted by Humanewatch.org has shown that over 70% of people questioned still believe that HSUS is actually an "umbrella" organization for all local human societies and animal shelters and that donations made to HSUS trickle down to those local shelters, therefore those people see no need in donating directly to their local shelters. They believe that their $19.00 per month donation to HSUS is going to provide hands-on, direct care for homeless and abused animals. In actuality, not only does HSUS NOT fund local humane societies and shelters, but they actually have a consultation service for those shelters, in which HSUS reps will come in and inspect and make recommendations-for a mere $25,000.00 fee! That's right. They CHARGE shelters TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS per inspection! One of their most-frequent recommendations? KILL MORE ANIMALS. HSUS is adamantly opposed to the "No-Kill" shelter movement.
So, what happens to those high-profile animal "rescues" that HSUS proudly touts on their websites and in their commercials? Those animals are either killed as soon as the cameras stop rolling-if they are "pit bulls" or similar type dogs they are guaranteed death in the hands of HSUS, even if they are still-nursing puppies, OR they are dumped on those already-crowded, cash-strapped local shelters and rescue groups, with no financial help from HSUS, of course.

The more people know about HSUS, the better. We need to get the word out that HSUS is a scam, that it has connections to the criminal underworld(Google "William Pacelli"; yeah, that is the REAL spelling of Wayne's last name, according to his own brother), is committed to ending ALL animal use and ownership by humans, and implementing a no-choice vegan lifestyle through the gradual elimination of animal agriculture. Humanewatch has been at the forefront of getting that word out, but it's been at the expense of the health of its founder, who has had to endure horrific attacks and both cyber and real stalking from HSUS supporters. You will often read the tirades from paid HSUS shills that Humanewatch is founded by a person who, as an attorney, has represented the tobacco, beer and restaurant industries, as if this association somehow made his efforts any less credible. Last time I checked, it was still legal for adults to smoke, drink beer, and dine out in all 50 states. I'm supposed to feel guilty for eating at a restaurant? Really? Or kicking back at the lake with an ice-cold Michelob Ultra and a bunch of my friends? Seriously? I don't smoke, but that's my choice, and I respect the choice of others to do differently. I'd feel more guilty about associating with an industry that takes in over $200 MILLION per year in donations, on the hollow promise of using that money to "save" all those cute, homeless, abused puppies and kitties, and uses that money to put into motion laws and regulations that are eventually intended to wipe those cute puppies and kitties...and snakes, and lizard, and cows and horses and pigs and tarantulas and scorpions and tigers and orcas...ad infinitem...from our lives forever.
