I recently switched roach food to purina cricket chow dry food, all my roaches and cric seem to like it but I've noticed my lobsters are starting to chew wings. Does this mean they need more protein? would a good quality dog or cat food be ok to offer along side the cricket food?

You only feed cricket food, or do you also feed fruits and vegetables?

Cricket food isnt that good, dry dog food would be better.
You could also feed them cooked hamburger meat once a week, that's the best protein you can give them, just make sure it has nothing added in it, and that its not too hot.

I do feed fruits and veggies but not alot lately. I'll try to give them a more balanced diet.

I feed my roaches with Marshall Premium Ferret Diet, it's about 38% protein, every species I've fed it to seems to do really well, of course I also feed a wide selection of fruits to them, mostly bananas, and cantaloupe.

Both fish food and cat food are very high in protein. My discoids really go for both. Ive heard negative about both but don't see why. I think the main thing is to offer a varied diet. I offer dog, cat, fish and chicken food, usually 2 or 3 different ones at a time. The dog and chicken food are much lower protein but are not the only thing i feed so its OK. I give produce as often as i can as well. They'll eat most anything but i don't give one thing all the time.

yeah, I used to make my own food and the main ingredient was ground koi food. I still have like 20lbs of koi food, I should grind some more and just add it to the cricket food I have.

Dog food has more meat added to it, so instead of buying that I give my roaches cooked hamburger meat once a week, that's their favorite food.
