I just killed off about 2,000 roaches if not more of this species because my colony gets out of control very quickly. Next time im thinking of selling them off in lots of 100 mixed adults for 10.00 plus shipping of whatever choice someone wants. If theres not enough takers to the point of me making any real profits (from feeding, etc) then ill just continue to kill the extras off every now and then. So, if anyone is interested in this type of thing, and that sounds like a decent deal then let me know. If that does not sound like a decent deal, then tell me what is considered a decent deal on these.

BTW everyone says these need heat, and obviously they dont. My colony breeds to the point of being out of control VERY quickly under no heat and feedings every 2 weeks. I literally sustain about 3,000 adults at any given time (thats after i do kill offs), and the colony started at around 100 about 6 months ago.

Anyways, let me know....

Cheers

BTW- all you cricket feeding individuals out there, 10.00 for a colony that if taken care of correctly (an infant could do it correctly) can take off in a month or two and can keep you from spending money on feeders altogether. Also can put spoiled food to a good use... (they love cantelope)

You should post this in the for sale section. I'm sure lots of people would want to buy these guys.

Agreed. I was worried about when mine started reproducing but I moved out all my adults really fast.

Currently have all nymphs of asst. sizes. If you want to make your colony stay a certain size, I would remove all the adults. Then you can harvest the new adults as they mature and determine the size of the next generation.

I've seen freeze dried crickets and mealworms at petstores, I wonder if you could freeze (or freezedry if you have the equipment) or otherwise preserve your excess roaches and sell them off that way?

OK, when the situation gets out of hand again, keep an eye out in the F/S section because they will be listed. Like i said earlier, 100 lots of mixed adults, extras included of course. Thanks for the replies.

Cheers.
