Lobster question

Do the lobsters your find being sold alive come from oceans in the state that sells them? For example, lobsters sold in Long Island, New York, were they caught in New York oceans?

Lol. I know someone who released a lobster into the ocean at the docks and was jsut wondering if it even could survive here????

Provided the water it was released in wasn't too polluted, the lobster would probably survive

Oh thats cool then.
Long story short, a Father bought a live lobster for his young son that wanted to "rescue" it and free it so they bought it, clipped off the rubber bands, and slowly lowered it into the water by the docks and it swam off under the docks. I jsut didn't know if it could survive I heard they are only in Maine or Rhode Island.

I'm fairly sure Homarus extends that far south, most harvest is in Maine because the population is higher. While your friends intentions were certainly admirable, they are just supporting the lobster industry.
