I was thinking about breeding button quails to feed the eggs to my pets and was wondering if chicks would be ok to feed live to a timor monitor? She can take down fuzzies just fine. She wouldnt be interested in the eggs

In my opinion feed frozen thawed as much as possible. I own snakes and only feed live to the snakes who absolutely will not take f/t. Its a more humane route for the prey animal and doesn't affect the nutritional value of the meal.

I know my ackie monitor and some others will eat hard boiled eggs or ground turkey. I dont see why a timor would not, but don't claim to be an expert with monitors.

They do that all the time. Culled chickens are their main diet in the tourist zones.
