How fast growing are they?
When do they get their black and white colors.

Mine right now is about 1.5" roughly and still is that creamy brown color like a perfectly cooked marshmellow . Eating great fat and happy. Moulted about 3 weeks ago.

You'll see the start of colors and banding on the next molt. :)

They grow pretty durn quick. I got a 2" They also start getting their adult coloration while still rather small, which is fun.

I just picked up 3 N chromatus that are about the same size as yours or just a bit bigger and they have their leg banding now and are showing some red. They are FREAKS. When i move the cups they're in they spaz all over the place, quick quick quick. I have to wait for them to settle a bit before actually popping the top to feed for fear that they'll escape.

Yep. Probably. My bigger chromatus took quite a bit longer to get the black parts really black and the creamy color to the carapace. The banding and the reddish parts were there quite early on if a little muted.

Ditto

ditto and ditto...adult colors show early and yes mine freaks everytime I try to pop the top to throw a cricket in. She'll run into her hide. Then procede to run out and threat display when the top is popped. Short stare off later she'll freak and run around until she finds her hide again. Super fine T :)

These guys grow very quickly. Before they start gaining any color they usually like the hide in their burrows and will occasionally hang outside the burrow. Mine is around 3in. and I've had it for about 4 months. Showing adult colors and much more terrestrial now than burrower.

Wow. I havent had my N chromatus very long, and he's 3" but he's not spazzy at all. I was really surprised because you hear so much about them being defensive and relatively quick/skittish.

Mellow even when i touch him gently.

I got a 3" female sent to me today from abroad. I have never seen a balder butt in my life. The paper she came in was all grey from it, and it just fell like powder when I moved it.

Come to think of it, the previous owner told me he never did cope with the hairs, so.... :8o
