Little Brown Bat

This little bat was found outside the hotel while I was in Albuquerque, NM last month. It looks to be in the Little Brown Bat genus, Myotis sp.

I like them as well - a whole lot actually. We see them in the evening flying around the yard catching insects.

Perhaps it's time to invest in a bat house? :D

I haven't seen a bat since I lived back east. Thanks for posting the picture though, I just love bats, they are so interesting :D

Anyoen ever keep one as a pet? I've heard its been done and thought about investing into it if I ever got some good cash for a change lol, ntil then I'm with spcrates on the '
time for a bat house'

Couple months ago my CAT managed to catch a little brown bat and leave it on the porch...I have no idea how that happened, but I suspect the bat was chowing on insects congregating on our porch lights and banged into a wall and fel

Actually the bat looks like he is wearing a bad toupee. It was great to see it hanging out around the hotel. I always enjoy seeing bats. They look absolutely primeval.

i'd love to own a place with a barn and have a few hang out there. they'd take care of all those pesky mosquitos for me.

unless it was a fruit bat it would be very impractical. they eat thousands of tiny insects a night, this would make feeding expencive and a real pain in the @$$
