well after not seeing what i thought was an adult female for about 2 months now i decided to dig this guy up last week.to my surprise its a mature male now.
time to find him some dates :D

I'm surprised he didn't come out on his own, although he does look very freshly molted...

Chris I dug up my only one today. I gotta say I was quite shoked by how fat it was. Is this normal ? Prehaps I fed it too much, its kinda hard to see how fat there getting when there in that hole. She/he molted a a couple of months ago, so I dont suspect a sac in her future.

Liphistiidae is the most primitive spider family with segmented abdomen, spinnerets at the middle of the body; and ortognath spider.
I never saw any Liphistiid spider.
Perhaps the last photo shows a female with many nymphs promptly to get out...

That thing looks like a medicine ball with legs.
