Hi, i am very interested in keeping this species. Until now i only keep tarantulas.
If you allready keep/kept this species or genus...how do you like it? What suprised you or what was unexpected? Do you see yours often?

My expectations are heavy webs and crazy feedings.

I have a 4.5” female and just picked up a couple small slings.
They are pretty fun to keep, web lots and get quite large

Well, its back to Linothele megatheloides if you are referring to the common spider in the hobby.

sadly my male died after mating with the two females and nether produced a viable sack, but me and a friend are raising another 0.0.3 slings together to hopefully succeed next time

Not sure if you got interested by watching Daves new video, these are apparently a new import and might be the real L. sericata or even another species alltogether.

they are defenitly fun to keep, fairly easy too

I am talking about the megatheloides.
I initially got interested because i saw them in a feedings Video of the Tarantula Collective.
Then i watched the video of Tom Moran about curtain web spiders and it got me hooked.
How old do they geht?

Would a 45x30x30 cm tank be reasonable for an adult female?
How Long dies ist take them to get to adult sie?
@Wolfram1 If it turns out male i could contact you for breeding purposes

i have my female in something smaller even, 20x20x20 though i have to say it doesn't do her webbing justice and is the bare minimum, i will upgrade her in the future but its fine for now, if you want to have a proper display the size you mentioned would defenitly be good, you could even go larger because she is liable to fill it all with webbing regardless of how much space you give her XD.

i'd say about 2-3 years to maturity, males are probably mature at about 2 and live about a year after. I am sure the female will continue to grow bit by bit.

you already got one?
sure, though i can't promise any successes, last time both females were with the friend and one sack was eaten because she was disturbed and the second one molded...
Not sure if i will have better luck with the female at my place because some things you just cannot control.

No i have non atm.
No worries...If it doesn't work out it can't be helped. At least the males get a chance to shine

TarCan just had them available, they weren’t available for very long though. Luckily I managed to snag one 1/3” sling. Fingers crossed for a lady.

Picked up a 2" Linothele megatheloides a few weeks ago because I wanted a heavy webber, and was absolutely not disappointed. Took only 3 hours after housing for it to get a good layer of webbing down throughout the 6×6×8 enclosure. Planning on giving it more space soon because I absolutely love the way it fills the entire enclosure with beautiful webbing!

They are VERY fast

I absolutely love them!
And with these you can't go wrong. The webbing is awesome and they are crazy fast but in a fun way .
