So, its only May and the temps here are already in the 90s . . .
Im sure theyll drop a little in the next few weeks, but its gonna be a scorcher this summer.

I am trying not to run my old, inefficient central AC so much, cause it costs a fortune . . .
I purchased a small window unit to put in the room, and it cools it down pretty good.

The only problem, is that the unit will keep running till I turn it off . . .
I need a way to control it, but all the herp-specific controllers are labeled for use with heating equipment, and Im afraid the temp range will be above my needs.

I need to maintain a steady(ish) 77-80 degrees.

Everybody is so worried about heating in the winter time, but my problem where I live is cooling during the summer . . .

I would do some experiments with fans. Figure out if and how much it can lower temperatures and put it on a daytime timer maybe.

Well I have the window ac unit, it says it costs 41$ to run for the year, I would guess at "average" use.
Thats pretty good.

I just need some kind of thermostat that can turn it on and off thruout the day as needed.

A timer is one option yes, but not the most efficient one.

I found a thermo that plugs into an outlet by lux brand, win100 programmable thermostat . . .
But Id have to order it online . . .
