Note: The bottom tank has a couple tinfoil barbs, an oscar, silver arowana, a channel cat, and a little yellow zebra cichlid in it.

Mmm... I have about 60 fish, mostly B. splendens, so I'll just post my favorites.

Harar Goldeneye, a Chinese Algae Eater

10" Common Goldfish. The orange one sadly died of eggbinding, but the male is doing very well.

Two of the offspring of the goldfish pictured above. (I also have a deformed one)

Buddy, one of my fancies (I also have a bubble eye)

Lupin, a double-tail minitaure plakat

Aria, a double-tail plakat with a jaw deformity

Spartan, a veil tail male

Vertigo, a veil tale male.

Vlad, a VT male with no dorsal fin or left ventral.

I am getting out of fish for a bit, so am currently taking down my last tank in preparation for college. But here is some of what I've kept over the years. I've kept mostly killifish, ideal fish for someone with limited space.

Deformed and disabled animals are something of a hobby of mine. I actively seek them out. I have many deformed bettas and two deformed goldfish; the bettas were adopted from breeders as culls, one of the goldfish was born here, and the other I got for free from a pet store. I also presently have several blind or one eyed fish. Many betta breeders will offer for free their "cull" fish, which are usually robust and healthy but may have minor deformities (for example, the double-tail plakat Lupin has a small spinal kink) that disqualify them for breeding. It's a nice way to "rescue" a fish as well as get an interesting, unique specimen free of charge.

Too bad you dont live by me one time I saw a goldfish with 1 blue and 1 brown eye, it was a feeder. I also saw an albino bullfrog tadpole and albino green tree frog. And an all black Crowntail Betta, i've heard they are very hard to find. Also one pink betta, a rose color pink with maroon fins, I cant even find a picture of one on the internet so far.

By the way the pink betta I saw looked similar to this minus the white in the fins. Amazing right?

I look for odd animals when I visit a pet store too but I never buy any because I cant afford to buy every odd animal I find, though i'm glad people like you do. :)

I like crowntail bettas, that black one sounds cool. I also like the half moon tailed bettas too. I have never kept anyone the wild type bettas before, but I would like to get some some time. Killie fish are great too. Too bad they don't live very long though:(
