I live in NY and commonly see leopard slugs in my yard each Summer, but dont really know much about them.

1- What do their young look like, i've never seen tiny spotted slugs before.
2- Has anyone ever found a white leopard slug?
3- I once found a leopard slug that was light brown, but was completely striped instead of stripe/spot combo and not dark gray. Was this a color variation?

I've tried to keep these so many times, and no matter how well they eat I experience massive die-offs even when they're in different containers, different substrates and different diets. No idea why...one moment they're fine and then mere hours later they're all dark, oily and withered.

Florida's humidity in your house is probably enough to kill them off. They hide during the day under damp logs and even burrow under the soil which makes it even cooler, and dont come out on humid nights usually. Even in NY Winter where it's 40 F out, after it rained I find a few Leopard Slugs hiding under the garbage cans, they do better in cooler, moist temp's no higher than 70 F i'd say and no lower than 40 F.

If you had a basement that's cooler that might help.

I find these alllllllll the time here in Mi and I bred them without knowing once or twice. They need to be cool and incredibly humid.
