Hello friends, just got my first 4 legged reptile, and had a question. To my understanding, papertowels are an okay bedding for a juvenile Leopard, which is what I have. But the heat pad says its not an "appropriate" bedding with the heat pad. Can anyone tell me if this is okay, or if I should promptly acquire reptile carpet.

Also, if anyone has any additional tips, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

I use paper towels and I recommend using them. I personally use two or three on the side with the heating pad just
to prevent a burn .
I recommend you make a hide out of a ziplock container filled with peat moss for humidity .

Okay, great. And yeah I need to get on that. I'm having some trouble finding organic peat moss around here, but I might have a few more places I can check

I'll get some pics up as soon as I can :) And I'll be looking for some peat moss tomorrow, when I go get some more crickets for everyone.

And is the heat pad right under the tiles? If so, and the whole thing is lined with tile, I'll do that, thats fantastic. Would any tile work? Of course, I'd keep it looking "natural" such as yours. I dont think geckos are so hip as to want some checkered tiling, lol.

Heat pad is stuck to bottom of 10 gallon tank. I used 1/4" ceramic tile. You can get an amazing selection of natural colors. The tile absorbs heat very nicely
