I've wanting to get into leo's for a while but haven't (don't know why). I've been doing more and more research on them and ran into something I haven't found out.

Is there any difference between males and females other than their sex organs and V-shape mark?

Edit: To clarify, are there any size/marking differences between male/female?

Lol haha!! Thanks, but I wasn't planning on spending any money on one. My buddy has two that don't get along and I have extra tanks and materials.

You sound like you are suffering with it, wish I could take it from ya but I'm a college student with no job. Unless you're willing to ship for free ;) (ahhhhhhh just messing with ya).

Adult males will be larger. Until then they reach adult size you can only tell by the preanal pores and bulges.

Leopard geckos are not bad at all... I only keep a few, and thats because its interesting to breed them and see what the cross looks like as the young mature. Very easy to keep and if you have a roach colony the cost of feeding them turns into nothing.

I have a pair of female that are about 12 years old. Male are bigger than female in most aspects.

Well I got mine today and I personally like it because they are stunning, don't mine being held, and actually walk around their terrarium.

If I want badass I'll just look right above it and feed my pyxie. Gotta have variety ;).

Edit: I'll post pics tomorrow.

First of all, leopard geckos don't suck. I agree with Rick, when you come out with a vague comment like that, keep it to yourself. If you want to explain to the OP why you don't like Leopards, that's fine. Please put on your big boy panties and think before you make a comment.

Pics as said, got it from my buddy that did not know what he was doing (which is why she is thin). He said he got her as a tangerine.

10gal until I make room. I'll put in the humid hide when I see she is shedding.

looks like a hypo tangerine carrot tail to me, and she doesnt look that thin thats about normal build for a female but she could do with getting more fat stored in her tail, leopard geckos are ace i have a male and two females i get a bunch off eggs off them, which i sell to only the the nicest people (afta they have hatched) but mine are all normal morph, i may get some more interesting morphs to breed from when my females get too old to breed, also has yours never been on sand?

Yeah, he kept her on pink sand :wall: . The good thing about it is that she hasn't been impacted from it. Also, I fed her mealies before the pic. She must have been starving because she ate 20+ mealies, I thought she was never going to stop.

I've had this question on my mind. Do I need to have the moist hide inside all the time? There's no room in the tank for it and I was thinking of just putting it in when I see her shedding. Would this be alright?

By the time you see her shedding, it's probably too late for the humid hide to be as useful as it needs to be. Assuming you even see the shed, don't leos shed pretty quickly when all goes well? And I've read they often shed at night. So the shed may be over and done with before you even see it.

Humid hide always.
