Has any one come across this before??????
If so what happend in the longterm???????

Or if any one has any thoughts or theory on this please post even if it sound's silly it might help.

All the best

Probably just egg laying season. They are pretty prolific little suckers. The egss are sterile unless it's being mated. Just make sure you are feeding it enough to keep it's strength up. I think they quit laying at around 8 years old and will survive to about 15 years. They only lay for 3 or 4 months out of the year I think.

Edit: Eat one and tell us what it tastes like. :)

Hi Washout
i dont think it is down to "egg laying season" as she has been doing it for the last 6 month approximatly 1 egg every 2 day's.
We dont know how long she can keep this up for so we have been supplimenting her diet with gut loaded crix and are dusting them every feed now to try and replenish what she has lost.

Hmm, you probably want to PM OldHag then, she breeds and sells them. You may want to feed some pinkies to her. Those have a lot more nutrients than crickets.

If she is laying an egg every two days..something is terribly wrong. They should only lay 2 eggs every 2-4 weeks. At this rate she will deplete her calcium stores and just basically wear out and die. I would call a vet that is wise in the ways of reptiles and ask what things can be done..if any. Wonder if you did breed her to a male if that would straighten out her cycles and stop this madness. She needs help fast either way.

I have to agree with OldHag there. Laying eggs every 2 days could be hazardous to her health. Seek vet help or try introducing a male to "stablize" her cycles.

I have also had the same things said to me on another forum so we are in search of a male her diet is also heavily doesed with variuos methods high gut loading of food also they are dusted as well every feed also drops in the water supply to try and keep on top of usage as a result in laying so many eggs. she aint looking to bad at the moment the problem here in england certainly in my area vets refuse to treat exotic's so you have to hunt for a zooilogical vet so most things are dealt with by the keepers of such animals.
If the male does not have the desird affect the a vet will be sought.

You should look for a vet right now. The ARAV (arav.org) includes international contacts for vet care.

I'm curious to know how often you were supplementing BEFORE she started laying eggs so frequently? If you were dusting with calcium too frequently, it's possible that sparked her unusual egg production.
