Hi guys,

My two older specimens (7-8) have had trouble getting the old skin off their face. I am afraid it has dried and may be impossible for me to remove(nor do I want to, since it could damage their actual skin). Does anyone know if this can be harmful to them?

I know that sheds left around the toes can cause toe loss, but I'm not sure about the face. IMO - any left over shed can't be good. Make sure their hide is humid and that they have access to some type of abrasive surface (bark, stone, etc) which they can use to remove sheds.

Hope this helps.

You can also get a Qtip or some such thing and rub water on the oldshed and it will peel off slick as snot. Ive had to help one of my baby leos do this. All the others (20 something) have never had a problem. I keep a moist hide in there at all times. I think moisture is the key.
