Lava lamp question

;)𓏲𓆑Hey all my fellow Arachnid lovers & caregivers!
Soooi my question is simply - :shy:I've recently moved my lava lamp into the same display case as the glass enclosure of three of my T's and my Mexican black Velvet seems extremely keen on going to sit up right on the glass as close as she can possibly get to it. Is that a problem? Can the lava lamp be a danger to my tarantulas or do they just like the heat? Is it okay for me to put on the lamp or led light once every few days? Just really afraid that it is bad for them so I'm asking because I know less than nothing. It's just a simple green & blue lava lamp. I've added a pictire if it'll help. My other two ones that are close to it also seem to like going near the colors whenever it's on. Or does this maybe mean i need to get them more heat like with heatmats? The cages are at 24°c with 65humidity right now.
Sooo any advice please?? 😂

They are likely attracted to the heat but it doesn’t appear to be dangerous, altough you didn’t ask for this, what is dangerous is that you have far too much room between substrate level and lid in your Tliltocatl schroederi enclosure which poses a serious risk of injury or death from fall damage. You should fill it up with substrate so there is no more than 1.5x DLS from substrate level to lid. This will mean filling up that tank 50-75% full. I hope you can take this unsolicited advice for the sake of your spiders health and well being 😊

Remove it. The T's are attracted to the heat. And as we all know lava lamps are the gateway to weed.

Ts are attracted to heat, that's why heat mats and other supplemental heating can be dangerous, because they can potentially cook themselves. Also, I would add more substrate to your enclosures because 1). less distance for your Ts to fall and therefore less risk of injury, and 2). more room for your Ts to burrow = happier Ts.
