last night, one of the "sub-adult" geos jacob (pulk) gave me, laid an egg sac
do i feed her just like i usualy do?
any special care, other than an escape proof lid?
any help is very much appreciated

i'd say...
keep feeding her like normal
take the sac out and put it in the escape proof container
she'll keep making sacs for a LONG time

latrodectus geometricus

known for its ability to reproduce in great numbers, ten egg cases being the record so far from one mating. I have two female geometricus who have produced nearly ten between them since July...since the egg cases are smaller,they may be laid in a series,and the egg number per sac varies,especially after a few are made and how well the nutrition is too_On the off note, the london Zoo only exhibits Latrodectus hesperus not Latrodectus mactans as the sign indicated, I saw the reference data from British museum on the side of the glass frame.(just had to comment.)tom

one i have has produced way more than ten... it's at least 15 or 20.

Same here. At this point I'm just letting the females eat all of their babies. I seperated out several babies from various clutches which will remain virgin. I started with 3 females a few months ago now I'm completely overrun!
