I agree. I have been rescuing animals for may years now. One of my former students coined a great phrase to explain my apparent lack of fear, or common sense when it comes to handling my rescues, she said I was "scientifically blind." I loved it.
I know I take great risk when I rescue various animals, but if I don't do it who will?

I found a baby bat on the sidewalk one time in school, coming back from lunch with my class. I picked it up, with my sleeve, and carried it back to the classroom.. then called the local wildlife rehabilitation woman I would have loved to keep it though, bats are too cute
