So I'm hanging out in front of my house, and look up to see this pretty cool looking spider right above me.

Anybody know what it may be? It was found in northern Idaho and is about an inch in diameter with its legs tucked in like that. Who knows how much bigger it is with them out.

Don't worry, I didn't capture, kill, or bother it in any way. I just thought it was really cool looking and wanted to get some pics of it.

I had one of those outside my house for the last month or so. I saw her mate and I haven't seen her since. :( I was hoping to catch one of her slings. Cool spiders, don't know the species though.

Looks like the one I am trying to find a name for

I found ours outside in the garage at night and thought he was very interesting cause I had never seen one like it... I am trying to get a name for my 4 yr old son... a new found arachnid lover so if I get one I'll let you know.

Those are all over here.

I saw one at school, then I saw one at work, then I come home and see one on my garage ;P

They're all over this time of year. My parents house and back yard will be home to anywhree from 2 to 10 once they get out in force. I've noticed these tend to like large high webs if given the opportunity
