My brain somehow managed to refuse sleep so I decided to take a look and see who was out and about. It is very dark so no pics sadly, maybe next time. Too tired atm.

Everyone is out! Besides the usual suspects; we got O schioedtei, O violaceopes, both O aureotibialis, O sp. Hatihati, even my tiny Thelyphonus manilanus is wandering about.

Anyone else have any nighttime adventures into the spider zone? Who do you see that you usually don't?

My P Rufus, Chilobrachys Huahini and P Cambridgei usually come out at night

Most of my tarantulas are always up to no good at night. But these days its been quiet for most of them. Im on a molting pinch, probably the last for a while since seasons are changing and i do believe it affects the growth.

My b emilia was completely out of its burrow around 9pm. First time since their molt a few weeks ago.

still no apparitions from my nhandu color. Its moving more and more closer to opening of burrow. Its gotten real big 😱. But, just chilling in the darkness.

Pretty much my entire collection shows up at night given how dark my spider room is even during the day.

Of particular note is my Cyriopagopus sp. “Nhen Dep”, she’s been really appreciating the much larger enclosure ever since I rehoused her and she’s only made night appearances since.

I’m pretty lucky that even my more reclusive are often still out when I get up in the morning, except for my N fasciaaurinigra. I see that one mainly only when hungry. I do keep that room fairly dark though.

I'm always up late and check the spider room in my way to bed. Interestingly, none of them budge when I flip on the lights in the room, so I often get decent photos of the midnight shenanigans. That's where I get all my fodder for the Derpy Tarantula Pictures thread! Well, most of it. Some of mine proudly derp in broad daylight too.

I got the red light out 2 nights ago and got some kind of interesting pics. This bout of insomnia has been messing with my head 🤪, but the spider viewing is at its peak👌. Some pics turned out better than others, definite vibe w/the red light either way. Ofc, had to get one with the UVA on my C marg. Pics being weird I'm just going to keep them attached but not full size. Last two are B boehmei and GBB respectively.

Idk might just be the brainal crazies. Most of mine will venture about during the day, especially since I keep it pretty dark in their room. Something about seeing them active at night though, they get in poses I have never seen before. This may just be me but I've found with night feedings my T's seem to have way more energy and less stress when I open their enclosures.

Not me, I always prefer to check on my jars of dirt while it's light out, midday. It would be upsetting to see bugs crawling about infesting my precious dirt jar collection. 😢

Agreed! What is meant by this exactly, though?
The only bug infestations I see are the ones on the walls when the sleep has not come for some time 😬😵💫.

This is one of the reasons I don't mind getting up at 5am. All the spiders are usually out and about.

I love how the spider is in the cup while it's got a perfectly good hide right next to it. It's got the same energy as buying a nice cat tree and having the cat prefer the box it came in.
