I found some awesome prebuilt cages, all I need to do is assemble them, so what is the optimal demensions for a 12 foot aboreal snake?

Here they are

1. 48"H 48"L 36"D

2. 60"H 48"L 36"D

These tw fall within my my price range.

Promt replies appriciated as I have a limited time for the deals...

I'd go with the second one as well, if you've got the room, you should give it to the animal. Anyway, whay kinda snake are we talkin hear? I've never heard of a 12' aboreal before. ~ Rex

Dito on the 5' cage, the more space the better and you can set up an incredible display with all the room. What type of aboreal??

Aren't Jungle carpets aboreals? And I heard they(females) can get to be 12 feet. Well anyway trhe situation changed LOL

It turns out I have a MALE JCP so I am thinking that perhaps the first choice would be enough?

You're serious? You've never heard of Coastal Carpet Pythons, Scrub Pythons, Boelen's Pythons, Tiger Rat Snakes or Black Mambas?

Woah, not saying it isn't possible, I think it would be pretty dang rare for a jungle carpet to get 12'. Costals on the other hand can get in uppwards of 14'.
Dude, I keep my 4' 2.5 year old carpet in a 40 gallon, yeah I know he needs an upgrade, but its been working fine since he was 18."

Yes, all of these snakes will climb if given the space, but I wouldn't call them aboreals. Ture aboreal swould be your GTPs, ETBs, and ATBs. I mean almost all snakes regardless of size will climb to some extent in the wild, its just that herp culture has catogorized most sp in to two catigories: terrestrial and aboreal. The fact of the matter is all the snakes mentioned above can be kept as terrestrials, but would benifit if they offered more vertical space. ~ Rex

A male jungle carpet may get 5 to 6 feet long, but I never saw one 12 feet long. I know the coastal carpets can get that long, but not the jungles. Ours were more terrestrial than arboreal.
