Awesome! There is a species around here (central tx) that I have seen over a foot long. Looks very, very similar to the ones in the top picture, brown with black stripes. Very interesting, and like you said, really cool how they capture and eat their prey. I think I will go get some and see if I get to watch that happen.

Now that is a worm! I believe the Kiwi bird in New Zeland only eats worms and certainly they are a large part of the diet of many birds here such as the Robin so they must have enough nutrition.
