My Lampropelma violaceopes has been making these weird movements all day and it has not moved all day either. I don't know if it has molted since it has been in its burrow all the time. Could this be the stretch they do after molt? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DzsnFKHCrc

As said it has been making those movements all day without moving out of position :mask::mask::mask:

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary there. If I had to take a guess as to what was going on, I'd say it was adding webbing to the walls of the burrow and what you're seeing with the legs is completely normal movement when they lay down webbing.

I know it's normal but it has been doing it ALL day for about 12 hours now. Before this i havent seen my lampropelma. Is it normal to stay in same position and web for 12 hours? i'm very not experienced and new to this hobby aswell :D

Yes its normal for some species. Also if you're new to this hobby, then can I ask why you're keeping an LV?

One of my friends left the hobby and gave me 2 LV. I know they're hard to keep and isn't beginner friendly species but couldn't say no when he offered them.

I have a Brachypelma albopilosum, and they aren't known for huge amounts of webbing. But once in a while she'll COVER an entire side with web. Since she doesn't do this very often, she is quite careful with her movements, almost sluggish. Looks kinda scary the first time, but I've come to know that it is a beautiful dance that needs no interpretation.

maturity and respect for the spider will keep you out of harm's way for the most part. Don't give away /sell any T you get just because its not for beginners. All you need to do is, properly house, feed, and re house it as an adult and we can help you with everything you need to know/do.

Don't give into fear.

Didn't see anything that seemed like a problem. My LV has stayed in the same position for 2 days without moving before. I did notice mine seems to be more active after I mist the enclosure, so I mist a little more often now.

Actually it's a very good reason to give away/sell a tarantula. Too many people pick the one 'with the pretty colors' and find it's beyond their skill level. That's more likely to result in an escape or bite. Keep in mind the people and pets you live with. Don't drag them into your test of courage.

he didn't get get it because of the way it looked, he has it because someone didn't want their Ts any more so it was giving to him for free he didn't choose it from a variety of others

The fact is that he's got a species that's beyond his skill level, and this isn't a test of courage like a video game. He has much better odds of things going well if he had a calm Brachypelma or Aphonopelma instead.

I'll never consider brachypelma a 'calm' species hahaha
They sure are compared to Lampropelma, which is far faster and high strung, and much more likely to bite, especially when cornered. Brachypelma aren't in the same league.

Agree completely. My LV maybe a special case, but its even more skittish than my Poecilotherias. One gentle stroke with a paint brush, and the thing is halfway down the street.
