Today I went to my local county fair and was irritated when I checked out the reptile exhibit they had there. They had advertised they were going to have all types of reptiles and invertebrates. I was hoping they would have a couple of T's.

They ended up having 1 tarantula, it was labled as:

Rose haired tarantula
(aphonopelma chalcodes)

Of course I couldn't find anyone actually working there, but I wanted to tell them of their mistake. It's just so irritating to see people who should know what they are talking about, but don't.

I just thought I would share this with you all.

What was the price on it?
Did it look healthy?
Was it a Rosea?

Yeah, I've been there too. In other disappointing news, our town opened a Petco an all that they had was an enclosure setup and a sign for a rosie, no animal inside the enclosure, however. Around the corner from this were some native species of anole lizards that I always see in my yard for $8.

Rather than complaining, the correct thing to do would of been to try and organise it for you to handle the spider side of the show, would it not?

I was meant to do a small one today, with a spider being the feature of a "guess the name of the pet" thing. Alas, british weather prevails, and I arn't willing to take my lovlies into the cold rain :/

Which was wrong, the common or the scientific name?

Oh yeah I know, but from the context I wasn't sure if the guy had named a rose hair as an aphonopelma, or a 'Mexican Blonde' as as a rosehair. If that makes sense :8o

Oh spidertwin, I'm also a spider-loving-twin too:D

Mr. T:
Nothing was for sale, it was a fair exhibit. The T looked to be in good shape. Oops, forgot to clarify, it was a G. rosea, but they had the scientific name as A. chalcodes.

I'm not sure if I could have a part in organizing the exhibit, but I would like to do that. I am planning to go back and attempt to talk to the people who run the exhibit. Maybe I could help them with it next year, who knows:)

deifiler: I am the older one, he is 18 minutes younger than myself.
