IT TOOK HIM LONG ENOUGH!

The last time the curlies molted to 2.5"-3", my son/budding comedian asked if he could have one. Why SHORE!! Gave one to Billy-12 also. Billy's pet interest index is approx. 3 days. Sam takes "Curly Fry" with him EVERYWHERE! She fits perfectly in his just-turned-9-year-old hand, he makes a little "burrow" and she climbs in. He talks to her, kisses her, protects her from puffs of air... it's adorable!! I'm going to have to get pictures. Maybe he can become a local tarantula celebrity like Emma!!

Awww! That is just so cuuuuuuuuuuuute! And "Curly Fry" is the most adorable name!

Still trying to think of names for my future baby T. Right now I'm leaning towards Hortense (name of hubby's character's pet spider in a LARP we played), or Horace for a male, or maybe something gender neutral like Kosh since I'm a Babylon 5 fan.

I know if I got a g. pulchra I'd name it Neroon, but I haven't seen any of those for a good price around here...

Anyway, pictures would be great, I'm a big mushball when it comes to things like that. :D

Well, I'm hoping it will be some sort of avicularia, but that will depend on local availability and such.

Meh, he's braver than me, too -- I don't have a problem kissing spiders, but I fear the hair more than anything else I fear in my life.

And Curlies always seem to be more than happy to coat me in it every time I get near them.

Please have him stop kissing her. Can you imagine a bite on the lips or other part on the face/neck?

My ex-girlfriend used to kiss my ferrets.

"Hon, that's not a good idea"

"Awe but they kiss me back... OUCH... little F$&%!"

and they're domesticated ;)

So um yeah between the hairs and the fangs.. that seems not so good an idea.

When he "kisses" her, she's in the "hand burrow" (he makes a loose fist around her and she climbs right in... like it's her burrow!) and I think his lips only make contact with his own fingers!!

BTW, I have kissed the toes of some of mine, but only the ones who would not bite if I put my finger under their fangs. Also, I THINK he must have the same immunity to urticating hairs that I do. Neither of us have EVER been bothered by them!! Now if he tried to kiss my lividum... THAT would be a different story!=D
