Tim from Kelowna B.C. Canada gave me a sac last month, and all hatched out
the thing is they are too much trouble to seperate them in this "dust-size" stage, so i plan just let them eat each other
any one has done this b4? just wondering how many will left when they reach 1"?

Um, that's a game I've played before. You've got to be really careful that your container is in fact totally sealed. I had about 300 baby L. hesperus in my closet....spent a few hours with my hands wrapped in duct tape killing stragglers...and then a few near sleepless nights...

as for how many would be left when they reach maturity, i would imagine that depends on the size of your container. keep them too close and youll have one left. give them enough space and you can probably count on 2-5 or so.

if you do it right, you should get a couple nice sized widows from the project.

good luck.

This is how I raise all my baby widows. I let them cannibalize down to 5-10 individuals and then feed pinheads until they are larger.

It takes 2-3 months to get them to 1"(2.5cm) or larger.
