I woke up to find my, now skinny, black widow with a huge egg sac. Should I remove the egg sac and house it in a separate container, or should I just leave it in there? Also, how many l. hesperus slings on average are in a egg sac?

L. hesperus averages around 200 according to one spider expert but a high variation can occur i.e. double or four figures. You might find seperating the egg sac more managable but take care not to crush the embryos in the egg sac when handling it.
