So, the K. Hibernalis I caught a while back just popped out an egg sac. I plan on releasing most of them back outside, but I would like to know the best way to raise the few that I do plan on keeping. Any advice and suggestions are welcome. :) Thanks

Yeah, I'll have my g/f bring her digital camera tomorrow. She took some pics today but I didn't get a chance to get them off the memory card before she left.

I just leave the babies with the female. They will form a colony and will all feed off the same food items, peacefully. In fact, the female will predigest crickets for the offspring to eat, sort of like a wolf regurgitating meat for her pups. The babies grow horrifically slow, comparable to many tarantulas, and it will be at least two years before they start to really look like the adults. As long as they have enough to eat, and enough space, there should be no problems. Just be aware that for the first few weeks after the sac hatches, the female will be ferociously protective of them and will attempt to attack anything that comes into the enclosure; this is the only time I've seen any "aggressive" behavior in this species, but they mean it! She'll calm down "after the new wears off", in about three weeks. By the way, it takes at least two months for a sac to hatch.

Thanks for the info pitbulllady. That gives me plenty of time to get them into a bigger enclosure. I have her in a Betta cup right now. I'll work on spider-proofing a smaller critter keeper for them all. Heh.
