Hello! Im about to make a decent sized order from Hardcore Arachnids and in that order are two black hole spiders 1.5”-2”. Ive heard that these get to 3” and want to order some enclosures before I get them. Would 4” x 4” x 8” enclosures work or should i step to 6” x 6” x 8”? Also, when they reach their adult size, would 6” x 6” x 8” still work or should i upgrade to 8” cubes? I just want to make sure they have enough room. Ive seen people keep them terrestrially as well so im not sure if 8” x 8” x 6” or 6” cubes would work. Im also unsure if they like damp substrate or not. Any advice would be appreciated!

As far as I know you don't rehouse these like t's they go into the big enclosure that I have seen ppl make , a big bit of wood with a hole through it with a small dark space at the bk and room to web out front , they are blackhole spiders for a reason 😊
These are very hardie movement based spoods that as far as I know get quite large for true spiders.
There are actually vivs made just for this spider, Cobweb Castle it's called , idk where your from but it you can't buy one you may be able to copy it 🤷🏻‍♀️.
The vid I saw it on.

Enjoy your new spooda 😊

I'd go with 6 x 6 x 8" with dry coco fiber as the substrate.

Thank you, i was thinking that too. Do you know if its difficult to breed these? If i get a male and a female i may try. Would I include a water bowl as well or just drip water on the web?

in my experience substrate is entirely unnecessary. i popped mine in a tote bin with a piece of cork bark at the bottom and a ton of stick, left her alone for a week, and then she basically had the entire enclosure webbed up. Also, I have found that they seem to get all the water they need from their prey.

These literally live in my room for free and they're everywhere. They are extremely hardy and do not need substrate at all. The ones in my room literally build their webs on my tarantula shelves, crevices, and even on my keyboard at one time. I'm surprised people find interest in this species because they're literally everywhere and free in my room.

1.5”-2”. Ive heard that these get to 3”
Most will reach 2''-2.5'' only. Some do get 3'' because I see them get to that size in my basement. but for the most part, 2'' is about what most will get.

These are huge as pets atm , they are even selling them here in the uk.
True spiders have been getting much more popular, I have even seen Eratigena for sale here when you can go in the cupboard and get 10 for free 😆
