I think so If you like the snake who cares what it is. It isn't venomous so If you like it get it

because i dont like just any old snake. its suppose to be a king for a king.

Why would i believe the deal then i give a king away for something i dont want? then I'm stuck with it

Even though i know the difference between many snake species there are still a lot out there that i cant identify.

So iam double checkin before or the trade.

Thanks abyess (sp)

Ok w/e I was just saying Does the label of kingsnake make that big of a difference? I mean if its disposition you are worried about that is always up to the individual snake IMO I am not trying to argue or pick a fight I am just stating my opinion I can understand wanting to know what you have but if it was a deal breaker I just don't get the principal behind it That's all I would tend to see it as a snake you have for a snake you want Maybe I am just different. I mean some people do pay $70,000 for a lexus when Its just a toyota with a different label and a higher price tag

Definitely a kingsnake. I'd have to agree with whoever said thayeri as well.

I would agree that it is a Variable Kingsnake (Lampropeltis mexicana thayeri) though not a particularly striking specimen. Not that it matters much since it’s offspring could look totally different than the parent stock.

Yes, it's a Lampropeltis mexicana. It looks like a juvenile. They get up to about 36 inches where as the California King (Lampropeltis getula californiae) gets up to 60 inches. If you want size, stick with what you have. Here's a pic of mine. Enjoy.

Ballpython2, yes my snake is calm. It is wild caught. I feed it a mouse every other week. I feed it frozen thawed mice in the enclosure. If you have a problem handling your snake, when you open the enclosure, use a small snake hook or allow the snake to crawl out onto your hand and you will have no trouble handling it. But, you also have to remember that sometimes a snake just has that type of temperment and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Also, try feeding the snake with tongs or long tweezers where it can't see your hand.
