Hello, i have a female King Baboon Tarantula at around 5+inch DLS. What size will they mature?
Someone is selling me a 3.5 inch male and i am afraid the male will mature faster and die even before my female matures. Any thoughts?

No need to apologize, we just needed confirmation on what you meant by KBT. The scientific name for your King Baboon is Pelinobius muticus, or P. muticus (scientific names are often preferred here on arachnoboards)

As for your original question, there are some answers on here for you:
I have seen some females that look real big. Not just in comparison to MM, actual monsters for a baboon sp.

I think 9" is maybe on the larger side but I have seen a few specimens at 7.5-8" easy. I would think maybe this is average and I just hope my girls turn out on the larger end (even if takes another 6 years)
If you Google "P. muticus size" you'll find lots of info, including similar answered questions on arachnoboards :)

Welcome to the community @KBT99 !

I hope this has been helpful to you. Happy keeping!

To tell if a female is mature, you need to examine a molt....if its mature, its spermatheca will be darkened.

If this is a first breeding for you, stop and look to another species...this is an extremely difficult species to breed.

If you are experienced breeding ts, i would expect a male at that size to match up with your female just fine when he matures.
