Kevlar gloves...

So i wear heavy duty kevlar gloves at work, and today i had to break a windshield. A tiny piece of glass went right into and through the kevlar glove, penetrated the skin very deeply and broke a blood vessel. Its very swollen and black and blue. The point i wanted to make is i was working with automotive glass that does not shard. Tarantula fangs and scorpion telsons are much more capable of puncturing these gloves.

So to all you individuals who think you are smart wearing said gloves, think again, they are CUT resistant and NOT poke or sharp penetration resistant.....

Just wanted to clarify that!

But yeah, even the body armor worn by our local law enforcement offers little protection against sharp "pointed" objects, knives, ice picks. So I imagine that with the small area that a T fang(s) would apply force to, it could go through gloves of this material......Ouch

There has been plenty of times on here where individuals have brought up the 'glove' debate. And i just wanted to get across now that i have actually worn kevlar gloves that they do absolutely nothing against sharp projectiles of a piercing nature. Now cuts.... they were very very well against being cut but a sharp object. So unless your tarantula or scorpion is coming at you with a steak knife, id go ahead and not wear them...

I didnt use my hand i used one of the glass breaking tools and was wearing the kevlar gloves for safety measures while i was breaking them. Honestly, breaking a window with your hand would be stupid, they are actually pretty tough to break as it is, and if i tried that i would have not only a more severely punctured hand, but it would probably also be broken...!
(Not to mention breaking a window with my hand would be a big big safety issue and would have probably gotten me fired!)
