I've just found a local seller that has sexed pairs for sale:)
I've ran a search on these's board trying to find out information on how to keep them, i didn't find anything so if anyone here has mantichora tigerscould you give me some advice?

I've found out that they tend to do well in various soil types, need to keep a corner wet for them to drink, but i haven't been about to find out any info on how big the tank needs to be for 2+(hopefully larva)

How many eggs do they lay?

thanks in advance:)

Are you in the US? If so, who's selling them? They are not often available here! Sorry I'm no help, I would like to get some as well.

FryLock-

That's a great site, I forgot they had a section on those since it's mainly a scarab site. Mantichora are supposed to be pretty long lived by beetle standards. A friend of mine used to run the LA Natural History Museum's Insect Zoo and was probably the one who collected the beetles in those pictures. He said he visited the museum several years later and they still had the same ones he had collected in South Africa! I think at that point the beetles had been in captivity for more than 5 or 6 years.

Well, if I was fortunate enough to get some, I'd probably setthem up in a 5 or 10 gallon aquarium with about 3 or 4 inches of substrate (mainly in case of eggs). This is how I set up large ground beetles, that are simmilar in size and behavior to big those big tigeres

I'm looking at keeping them in a tank thats 24"Lx8"Wx8"H i think that should do it, with sand as the substrait.

Looking forward to getting them and hopefully being able to feed their young:)

edit:
just found an old tank thats 24x12x16 its going to be great for them:)

I've seen them near my house carrying wolf spiders and other small insects.

I love those lil guys, they are so freakin fast.
