well if youve kept octopus i think you should try it, yes they are very delicate and from what i understand they need a more open planted tank, if you get me. less rocks and more like weedsetc to float near for shelter

Check out www.grimreefers.com . It's my second home, and has an equally dark sense of humor to AB. These guys know their predatory marine life!

I did a lot of research on them but ended up deciding not to get them because -

1. Need a big tank, good filtration, protein skimmer.

2. Can't really put anything in there with them.

3. If they ink, oh boy you got your work cut out for ya.

4. Don't even ask what happens when they ink in the carride home.

5. Short life span.

One of my top 5 aquatic critters though!

Ah well, something to maybe try later in life? just as a question, do you jhave any small reef tanks, and if so without fish how much did they cost to setup?

yeah, i went back today just to look, and they sold it,which is good didn't really have the room and yes they require some care to keep them alive, they are so cool anyway,i'll wait alittle and then i'll get one,all of my saltwaters are only inverts.the small reefs were not alot to setup, about $200 complete to setup.

Please check out www.tonmo.com for more information on keeping cephalopods. It's octo, squid and cuttle central.

TONMO is an awesome resource to search, but they're a bit slow to reply to new questions. It's a fairly slow board. If you're good with the search function, it can't be beat.
