Keep finding bush crickets

I have found bush cricket nymphs in my frog tank and in my moss tub and the only thing I used in both is zoomed moss. The tub of moss is covered in clear plastic at the top for a green house affect. Could the eggs be in the moss. Also, if it is definitely a bush cricket, can I keep it as a pet or would that be illegal?

Do you have any photos of the crickets? Bush cricket can refer to a lot of different species.

Thanks,

I do but they are super blurry. I know what it is, I just don’t know how they got in there. Could the eggs have been in the moss or do I just have a problem with them?

I have definitely identified it as a bush cricket nymph but I’m not sure which type

I guess I will leave it in the moss tub because it has lived in there for a couple months. The plastic has no holes so I think it was from an unhatched egg left in the moss and it’s so small, I assume it can’t eat all the moss.

Looks like Scudderia, but at early instars they're hard to ID to species. It could also be another phaneropterine katydid. There are several species in California (assuming that's where the moss came from).
