Does anyone actually have an image of a P. Murinus being held? Or, has anyone ever held one? I'm simply curious...

I've seen a few pics online with someone holding one, and I also saw someone holding one at a reptile show i went to awhile back.

There's lots of pictures on the boards featuring pictures of P. murinus being handled. They should be relatively easy to find.

It probably wasn't the best idea in the world, but here is a pic I took of mine a while back:

Handling tarantulas, even fast and supposedly "agressive" species is no great mystery or feat. Tarantulas that are allowed to move unimpeded on you will generally not bite, it is only when they're grabbed or feel threatened. It's impossible to know what's going on in their "minds", but they seem to react more defensively to whats going on above and around them than they do to whatever they happen to be walking on.

Not that I'd say handling these is a good idea, the spider could still dash off and escape, or run up into a open shirt sleeve and become trapped and THEN bite.

I've been bitten by P. murinus, and believe me, it ain't fun.
