Nope unless you live in a state with odd laws (there are some i beileve where all boid's are banned) or a town/city with odd (read BAD) bylaws :( .

Also, most cities have a size law. For instance, it's illegal in Denver to own a snake over 10 feet. But yes, you can buy Green and Yellow Anacondas.

I have a friend who wants to sell a yellow anadconda. I am not sure what he's asking but if you would like to know more...just PM me.

I'd probably say "some cities" rather than "most cities". It'll probably be "most cities" eventually though :(

Interestingly, I was told by a Venezuelan anaconda researcher that male green anacondas rarely exceed 8 feet in length. He said after years of field research he's never seen one to exceed that. They breed in a big mass, with many males mobbed around the many-times-bigger female. That's gotta be quite a sight!

Based on market value, I guess that's a good deal, green anaconda babies usually go for $200 bucks or so, so a large adult like that would be pretty pricey.

What you have to ask yourself, however, is "Do I really want to make room in my home for a 200 lb snake (which it should weigh something in that neihborhood if it's really as long as you say) with a nasty disposition and a tendancy towards various health problems?" Viewed from that angle, I'd say it was a bad deal even if it was free {D

Seriously, I keep (an have bred) Burmese pythons and I can tell you the novelty of big snakes wears off very quickly. Unless you are very passionate and excited about these animals and have been for a long time (long enough to know this isn't just a whim), I STRONGLY suggest you not get that snake. Keping a snake that size is a HUGE responsibility, be sure you know what you're getting into.

I wasn't going to buy the snake..........HaHa.........The cage alone would be too much money for me............Plus I wouldn't want to have to feed it a baby goat every week(not sure what they eat)..................

Ah, I guess when you asked if it was a good deal I assumed you were considering getting it. Definately not a great pet for most people!

Wade id say your 110% right about super big boids im behind ppl's rights to keep them but the realty of them can wear there owners down, plus even with walk in sized viv's which i think all 15'-20' snakes need your still gonna have to get personal with it from time to time ;) iv seen other ppl's yellows up close (10'-12' females) i would be to much a whimp to deal with them and if you like boids from swamps remember P.curtis are the Anaconda of the python world.. but with less teeth ;)

They also do not attain the massive girth that the female does. The pair of green anacondas at the Bronx zoo are always thought to be a mother with her offspring by the public. They also believe the the ancondas cage mates, a pair of marine toads, are its food. Even though there is a marine toad graphic on the exhibit.
