The parasites are braconid wasps... really cool. Those are their pupas, the larva live inside of the caterpillar until they are ready to pupate and turn into adults.

The mantis is a Chinese mantis (Tenodera aridifolia sinensis).
Great pics.

Nice pics, especially caterpillar with parasites.

Second wasp it is Polistes sp. and the beetle it is probably Anomala sp. or another close relative from Melolonthidae family.

Thanks! I wasnt sure :) I wonder, do they make good pets?:?
All mantids make good pets. I used to breed Carolina and Chinese mantids and I could free handle the females. The males are a bit flighty;)

Great Mantis picture:D

I'd have to say that the beetle is scarbaeidae.
Scarabaeidae has been splitted into 9 different families. Scarabaeidae, Geotrupidae, Ochodaeidae, Aegialiidae, Aphodiidae, Melolonthidae, Rutelidae, Dynastidae, Cetoniidae.

I was wrong in my last post. This beetle probably belongs to Rutelidae family. But Melolonthidae beetles are their closest relatives.

edit- Yes, I was right. This is Popillia japonica (Rutelidae)

"Japanese beetles". They're an agricultural pest and in many parts of northern america they're more plentiful than houseflies. Very pretty though.
