There's no hard and fast rule about exactly how long they will take. Here's a couple of mine for reference.

B. smithi - purchased July 15, 2005 as a 1/2" sling
now 3" male (expect a female to take atleast 1.5 - 2 times longer)

G. rosea slings - received July 13, 2006
molts 2 @ Oct. 12, 2006, 1 @ Oct. 05, 2006
(These were just under 1/2" and didn't even gain 1/4" on the molt)

It's not a lot of info, but it will give you a little idea.

B. smithi, (mexican red-knee) could take 5-8 months to grow to 2". If it eats well.

G. rosea (chilean rose)... all I know is, a loong time. Never raised one from a sling.

There are many factors that can affect the growth rate so it is difficult, if not impossible, to give very accurate estimates. However from personal experience the B. smithi will generally take a few years to reach the four inch mark. G. rosea grow VERY slowly. I have seven from an egg sac I hatched back in December of 2004 and they are just now reaching the one inch mark.

I do tend to feed leaner diets and the temperatures are not very high in my house. Both of these will tend to slow grow rates.

I purchased an adult female chilean rose FOUR years ago..
i molted twice in my care, and the increase in legspan is 0 to 0.5 inch
but the increase in size of carapace and abdomen is a little noticeable.
chilean roses are quite slow in growth speed..
I'm not very sure about their growth rate as spiderlings.

Males are easy, once they have their maturing molt, and can mate. Females can mate before reaching full size, (in most species, not sure about all). For the species you're getting, red-knee should be around 5.5" and the chilean rose ~5".

what is the fastest growing tarantula from spiderling to mature?
Um.. prob P. murinus. P. cambridgei is pretty fast too though.
