Even since I got my A. avicularia from the LPS, I've basically had nothing but bad luck with this guy! I know, people are probably sick of hearing me complain about this, but I don't know what to do, I've done everything I've been told I should.
basically in the timeline of bad luck:
1. mom got the T for me because I was at work (not so bad)
2. two days later find out he's a mature male. (just great >>)
3. has so far completely refused food in my care
4. mold in the cage
5. cleaned it out and fashioned a new door so it can stand vertically
6. mites? springtails? some little white bugs that jump in his water bowl. (oh joy...><)
7. I noticed the glue holding the new door on isn't holding.
8. move him to a different tank so I can cean/fix his tank.
9. door shatters
10. bottom of the tank shatters
can I please get a break? :8o
I think I'm just going to order a tank from tarantulacages.com if stuff like this keeps happening, its undoubtly going to be worth it.
/edit/ good news is that my B. smithi is starting to be a little sluggish, darkening a bit, and refusing food. pre-molt time!!!
