alright. i been wanting to get a t for quite awhile. last week i spent over 2 hours cleaning out a 35 gallion fish tank which now i found i did for nothing because 5-10 gal is best for the t i want lol. i went to walmart and bought a small cage to put the crickets in along with some peat moss. then i went to pet store and bought a 10 gal tank that had a locking lid, also got crickets, cricket food, a water bowl a temp and humidity themomiter, and of course my rose (which i have not named yet) i found three rocks that fit perfectly after searching for awhile and baked them in the oven along with the peat moss. my girlfriend let me borrow her small cage that she had so i could keep the t in it so it didnt have to stay in the small paper box it came in. (btw i glued the rocks with sealent) and waited a good 8 hours for it to dry all the way. says it drys in half hour but wanted all the fumes to be gone. when i first put him in the cage as u can see in the pictures he started climbing up the glass a little bit, then he wandered all over the cage then went up ontop of the log. he now is inside the log resting. i think he finaly is comfortable with his new home lol. okay after all this finaly the pictures!.

Very nice! A smaller water dish would suffice, i'm not sure what he'd do with something that big! For my rose hair, I Just use a bottle cap. :)

A good start but you need to raise the substrate to at LEAST 1/2 full if not more. If she falls from up high onto those rocks she could suffer a fatal injury. A fall of that height even onto soft substrate could still break legs. Rule of thumb is roof clearance should not exceed 1.5x legspan. Also, the temp and humidity gauges aren't really necessary. G rosea like it absolutely bone dry and temps anywhere in your comfort range is fine for them.

Congrats on a nice spider though. You're on your way to full fledged arachno-addiction.

You can still use your larger water bowl, but put some rocks in it to lessen the depth. The issue is not with your t drowning in it(because he's a larger t), but your cricket will drown in it and pollute the water. I use a Lee Breeder KK because it doesn't have uch height but plenty of floor space. The Rosies are very hardy and adaptable. I use coco-fiber as bedding. When I first put the coco fiber in, the T remained in his transfer cup until the bedding dried out to his liking.

you will most likely find keeping crickets a thankless task. They die, they are noisy, they smell bad. Blaptica Dubia are easy, don't smell, don't climb, survive great, and have much better meat to shell ratio.

Your T can use that waterdish as a swimming pool lol:rolleyes:
lol, yeah get a H. gigas it will swim j/k. I agree give another 5-6 inches of substrate, you want it so the T standing on the top of the rocks or log can't quite reach the roof. BTW the thermometer and humidity gages are not really useful.
