I wandered into an lps and saw they had a normally colored G. rosea for sale.

Since I have normals and rcf's already, I didn't buy it. On the way out behind the counter I saw a 5.5 gal tank with reptile sand, accessory rocks, water dish, and a beautiful healthy adult female orange color form rosea. When I asked the kid behind the counter if I could see it, he said "take it home!" So naturally I thought he meant to buy it, so I said "how much?" To my amazement he said "free!" So I said, "ok!' He disappeared to ask, reappeared and said "take the whole thing!"

So I did!!

I have rcf's and the normal run of the mill rosea, but the female I picked up has a slight orange tinge as compared to the normal grayish colored legs. Thanks for taking away (just a little bit of) the excitement. I take that back. I'm still excited about my find. What is it about AB that everyone gets thrashed sooner or later. If you don't believe me (which you have no reason to) it means nothing to me.

In fact she's actually bright metallic orange and glows under a blacklight like a scorp. But it really depends on her mood. Sometimes she gets a gray head like a hog island boa if she is not feeling well. Other times I use her as a nightlight because she glows and creates light. I feed her lettuce. Iceberg lettuce. Speaking of icebergs, the correct temperature for T's is actually in the freezer- 25 degrees F. You should see her crayola yellow abdomen and bright green legs like a traffic light. A glowing traffic light. But hey, you've been doing this for five...whole...years, so you already know all this stuff.
Oh, and I forgot. You have over one...thousand...posts!! Wow!! That makes you better than everyone with lesser post counts than you!

Wow...there really isnt a need to be such a jerk about it. I wasnt saying that you were in anyway inexperienced in the hobby, I was just asking for a picture. And im pretty sure that I never said "You know absolutley nothing. I know everything and Im much better than you at everything tarantula related because I have over 1000 posts." Post count means nothing. And I wasnt "trashing" you. So calm down and grow up.

But if you really want to be taken seriously, you shouldnt be so quick to personally attack somebody for no apparent reason.

Ok. Bad day yesterday, guys. I apologize. I just get tired of all the bullcrap on this forum that seems to be in every thread, so I mistook some replies. The proverbial "straw and camel" syndrome. Sorry.

understandable, I've seen alot of crap that doesn't need to happen on these boards. I think we'd still like to see some pictures though. :) Not that I dis-believe you, I'd just like to see a picture. {D

Looks like an ordinary G.rosea to me....
The point of this whole thread was just to announce that I got a tarantula and cage for free unexpectedly. I was (and am) excited about it, but man! I regret even posting in the first place. Whether she's gray, or orange, or red, the point was that she was FREE. lol Sheesh.

I recently acquired an adult female T. blondi for free as well from a friend and to me, both the rosea and blondi are exciting to get! I have over 90 arachnids and it's always exciting to get more, even the "common" ones. :D
