I purchased 3 "asian forest scorpions" from reptilecity.com a few weeks back. Today I had to fix up their cage a bit because I wanted to put an aluminum screening on the top of the flase bottom. Anyway, my question is do "asian forest scorpions" (H.Spinifers???) make hissing sounds? I noticed when I was moving them into tupperwares to fix the cage that they were indefinently hissing away! Basically I was wondering if maybe what I got is something like this...

...it looks just like that btw. Or are those a.k.a. "Asian Forest Scorpion?" Im kinda new to this whole hobby so some insight from a more knowledgeable person would be great! Thanks! :?

Asian forest scorpion is a common name for heterometrus spp. So you can have one that hisses, it may not be H. spinifer it can be any heterometrus spp.

I have 2 spinifers, longimanus, and possible laoticus. Yes, my spinifers do make a faint hissing sound when agitated.

Nice! I was also wondering out of those three types of Heterometrus..which one gets the largest? Also, are they all similar in size.... :?

Im pretty sure they are all similar in size except for Heterometrus swammerdami which gets absolutely huge, like 10 inches or something like that.
