Just wanted to share this cool banana spider with everyone I saw in my yard yesterday . I like the cool looking spider's and hate the mean one's like black widow and brown recluse. I also like catching small bug's and dropping them in the web and let them do whatever they do with them it's very entertaining and self interesting to watch the process of everything.

Those 2 species are not mean. Their most common defensive move is to run.
Would you blame an animal taking a defensive behavior if it felt threatened?

I know that they have their own defense and all but I don't really care for them brown recluse bites suk I've had a few . They can run and hide all they want to. 😂 Lol but cool one's can stay help with bug's and stuff.

Argiopes are some of my favorites! I agree with viper there though. I’d bite ya too if you were trying to squish me.. just sayin.

If you got bit you probably did something to deserve it. ;)
No offense intended.

I love Argiope spiders, some of my first Arachnids when I was a wee boy of 9 were Argiope trifasciata, Argiope argentata, and Araneus diadematus. Needless to say they started a lifelong interest for me.

Sadly, I've been looking for these species locally for a couple years and I rarely see them in the places I used to. About to go hunting for more when summer turns to autumn.

You probably won't ever see "a mean spider" as I do not think they have a mean bone on their body. :smirk:

Latrodectus geometricus has been taking over and displacing Latrodectus hesperus, so it's getting harder to find them in the same places.

Appreciate them while they're still easy to find!
