I am looking for a fairly large jumping spider to care and photograph. I live in Southern Nevada so it is very hot still
and not certain if they could be shipped and survive the trip? I have Googled jumping spiders and a lot of places
do not sell live wild animals unless they a being breed. I know they are in my area but I have not found one in my yard
or I just can not see them. I am older but just have fallen in love with them watching You Tube vids on them
Thanks

There are some Phidippus species in Nevada, and a lot of those get pretty big. Also yes, jumping spiders usually survive shipping if it’s a good seller. I wouldn’t recommend buying online if the temperature in your area is over 85° The week it arrives. If there aren’t any at your house, you could go to a park that isn’t treated with lots of pesticides. (Make sure the park doesn’t say you aren’t allowed to take the bugs though)

Look in bushes and long grass, you can pretty much find them everywhere, if not maybe you can find someone local who is willing to sell one for nearby pickup.
